Texture with LineI can use different styles of lines to create implied texture within my owl drawing.
Students will use simple shapes to create the outline of their owl on black paper (use a pencil to map out the owl). Color Sticks by ™Crayola will be used to add line/color giving the owl a textured look. Use a multiple of different line strokes to create implied texture, shading will also help imply texture. DO NOT COLOR, use short lines, different directions to create your texture. Owl Facts:

Written Reflection:
Write about the process used to create your artwork. Talk about the strong areas (any why they are strong) as well as the weaker areas. Did the artwork achieve the technical element, implied texture (why or why not). At least one paragraph. Turn it in: Google Classroom comment box. |
Line:
Line is one of the seven Elements of Art. A line is an mark created by a point moving across the paper or any space. It varies in size, width, direction, and length. Lines often define the edges of a form. Lines can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal, straight or curved, thick or thin.
Texture:
There are two different types of texture actual and implied. Actual texture refers to the surface texture of the work of art, you can "actually" feel/touch the texture. Implied texture is where the artist makes you believe that surface has texture qualities to it, soft, rough, cold, hot, sharp, and more. Texture is also one of the seven Elements of Art.
